    Highland Music Trust (Scottish Charity SC), based in Inverness, Scotland, is a charitable trust established for the encouragement of Scottish national and traditional music.     Biography. Gow was born in Strathbraan, Perthshire, in , as the son of John Gow and Catherine family moved to Inver in Perthshire when Niel was an infant. He started playing the fiddle when very young and at age 13 received his first formal lessons from one John Cameron. In spite of being something of a musical prodigy, he originally trained as a weaver, but eventually gave up. In this third of a three-volume set of 'The Scots Fiddle', the author has compiled a collection of the fiddle music of Scotland. It includes over traditional fiddle tunes and song airs providing an insight into the rich inheritance of Scottish and Gaelic culture.
